While writing the text for the section “About me” on my website I realized that I’ve been doing photography for half of my life now. I started when I was 14 and I’m soon turning 28. Half of my life. It’s quite magic and it makes me realize how blessed I feel for finding my true passion so early in life. Who would have known that the start was after that day, of wandering around taking photos of this and that with my analog pentax in the streets of Sundsvall.
To be honest my first roll was terrible haha! I basically had no idea of what I was doing and most of the photos got under- or overexposed. Exactly the way it should be – cause it made me so angry and frustrated I decided to continue until I managed to work this camera out. Who would have thought that this would be the beginning of becoming a photographer?
It’s been quite the journey, trying to find my personal style, trusting in my ability, moments of self-criticism, development, happiness, sweat, thousands of questions and a never ending urge of proving people wrong! If I would have listen to everybody telling me that my future as a photographer was doomed I would have given up a long time ago.
What makes me love photography is the fact that it feels like I’m being able to “catch” time, capture it somehow. To remember moments and memories.
Dear photography, until death to us part.
